For how long have you been doing this?
For as long as I can remember.
I was around 14 or 15 when I got my first phone with a decent camera. I became fascinated with taking symmetrical photos and trying to frame things in a way that just felt right.
In 2013 I bought my first DSLR because I wanted to start shooting videos. Photography slowly grew alongside that. At first I was just taking photos of friends for fun, nothing serious.
One day I spontaneously took a few photos of a friend and his girlfriend. When I looked at those images later, I realized something had changed for me. The emotions in those photos were real and suddenly photography felt like it had meaning and purpose.
Along the way there were moments where I felt like giving it up. - I lost motivation a few times and questioned whether it was really for me.
But somehow photography and cameras always find their way back to me. No matter how much I try to step away, it keeps pulling me back.
At some point I started to realize that maybe this isn’t something I chose.
Maybe it’s something that chose me.
